The Great Burn Conservation Alliance staff and Board of Directors have recently updated our organization’s strategic plan. You’re likely to see a couple of key themes from this plan reflected in our work this year:
Increased investment in relationship-building in our rural and tribal communities.
Expansion of our volunteer program as an outreach tool to attract and retain new conservation advocates.
Continued work to strengthen our organizational governance and financial stability.
A deepened commitment to becoming a more diverse, equitable and inclusive organization.
We also have a new vision and mission statement, which we feel is more reflective of our values and our niche in the conservation community.
Our vision: The Great Burn Conservation Alliance envisions a wild and resilient Great Burn ecosystem that supports the communities, flora and fauna that call this region home.
Our Mission: The Great Burn Conservation Alliance fosters the connection between people and place to further conservation and stewardship in the Great Burn ecosystem.
What will this look like on the ground?
We’re expanding many of our outreach and stewardship programs this year, so that we can introduce more folks to this special landscape and better protect the places we all love. Our staff is growing too. We will have more field staff on the ground this summer, and we’re hiring a new full-time volunteer coordinator to grow and improve our backcountry stewardship trips.
We are grateful for your continued support, and we would love your feedback on our plans. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any thoughts or ideas about our work.
