2024 In Review

As planning is already underway for the 2025 season, we can’t forget to recognize our accomplishments of 2024. Of course the stats can’t tell the story of all the accomplishments of the season — the connecting of souls to wild places, the wildlife sightings, the rain, sunshine, and snow flurries — but they’re the easiest to capture in words. From 2024, we want to recognize all of our wonderful, dedicated volunteers. We never fail to be impressed by the productivity of our volunteers and their willingness to step up to the plate. GBCA and the wild places that we help to protect wouldn’t be the same without you.

Recognizing our board

A completed underrated, but never underappreciated part of our organization is our passionate, knowledgeable, good-hearted board. We would like to recognize Mike Oliver and Skip Kowalski as their time on the GBCA board has come to an end. We would also like to welcome our newest members, Brian Christianson, Norm Williamson, and Chris Ryan, we are excited for what is yet to come.

What’s Next in 2025?

Goals for 2025 include:

  • Hosting more single day/weekend volunteer events and projects!

  • Expanding our education base to more rural Idaho schools.

  • Collecting and releasing biocontrols within the forest.

  • Continuing high school-aged backpacking stewardship trips.

Keep an eye out for our 2025 Stewardship trips to be posted in March 2025!
