Through the Lens: GBCA Backcountry Ranger

Please join us in giving GBCA backcountry ranger Rory a tip of the hardhat and holler from the mountaintop as he moves on to his next adventure. Rory has been responsible for removing thousands of pounds of trash from the Great Burn backcountry, reporting trail conditions, discovering new weed infestations, - you name it, he’s probably been there and had a hand in keeping it wild. Rory also has played an integral liasion role, keeping our relationship with multiple USFS ranger districts and partner groups strong.

Over the last 15 years, Rory has been to some pretty incredible places (and has the stories to match!). As a tribute to the thousands of miles he has covered, we thought it would be nice to share a few pictures from his travels.

One of the Great Burn Conservation Alliance’s greatest strengths is our in-depth knowledge of our mission area. The reason: our crews love the place as much as you do.

Thank you Rory for your dedication and love for the Great Burn.
